Everything you'd want to know before your first jar shows up.
The Bear Pantry operates as a home-based cottage food business under Texas Cottage Food Law. That means everything is made by hand in a home kitchen rather than a commercial facility, in accordance with the state rules that allow small producers like us to sell directly to customers.
Right now we're focused on local pickup and local delivery within Texas — it lets us keep everything small-batch and personal. See our Shipping & Pickup page for the current details, and check back as we grow.
You can add jars to your cart and reserve them through checkout, but no payment is collected online. Mama Bear (or someone helping her) will follow up personally to confirm your order and arrange payment — cash, Venmo, or Cash App — at pickup or delivery.
Storage varies by product — full details are on our Food Safety & Storage page and on each product's page. As a general rule: keep unopened jars in a cool, dry pantry, and refrigerate after opening.
Every product page lists its full ingredients. If you have a specific allergen question or dietary concern, reach out before ordering and we'll get you a straight answer.
Absolutely — that's basically what The Bear Pantry was built for. Send us a note with what you're picturing (or who it's for) and we'll help you put something together.
Honestly, it depends on Mama Bear's schedule and what's in season. The best way to know the second something's ready is to join the email list — we'll let you know as soon as a new batch comes out of the kitchen.
We're based in Texas. Since this is a home-based kitchen, we don't publish a home address — pickup location and details are shared once your order is confirmed.
We'd rather just answer it directly than make you guess.
